Liability Waiver
"Your last chance to reconsider this decision"
🚨 READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING 🚨
This is a legally binding document that affects your legal rights. By signing this waiver, you are giving up substantial legal protections. You are acknowledging that alligator wrestling is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and that you voluntarily assume all risks, including death or serious injury. Read every word carefully. If you don't understand something, ask questions. If you're having second thoughts, that's your survival instinct working properly—listen to it.
Introduction
This Assumption of Risk, Release, and Indemnity Agreement ("Waiver") is executed on this day by the participant identified below in favor of the Lower Reedy Alligator Wrestling League (LRAWL), its officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated entities.
Purpose: This waiver is required for participation in, attendance at, or any involvement with LRAWL activities including but not limited to: alligator wrestling matches, training sessions, volunteer activities, spectator attendance, and facility visits.
Plain English:
You're about to sign away your right to sue us if something goes wrong. This applies whether you're wrestling a gator, watching someone wrestle a gator, or just visiting our facility. If you're uncomfortable with this, leave now. We won't judge you. (Actually, we'll respect your judgment.)
Assumption of Risk
I understand and acknowledge that participation in LRAWL activities involves SERIOUS RISKS of injury, death, and property damage, including but not limited to:
- Bites, scratches, and lacerations from alligators
- Being grabbed, held, or death-rolled by alligators
- Broken bones, dislocations, and crush injuries
- Loss of fingers, toes, or limbs
- Concussions and traumatic brain injuries
- Drowning or near-drowning in water-based environments
- Infections from wounds (alligator mouths are NOT sterile)
- Psychological trauma from witnessing or experiencing dangerous events
- Injuries from falling, slipping, or colliding with surfaces or other participants
- Heat exhaustion, dehydration, and environmental exposure
- Injuries from malfunctioning or inadequate safety equipment
- Injuries caused by the negligence of LRAWL staff or other participants
- Permanent disability, disfigurement, or scarring
- Death (we really can't emphasize this enough)
I acknowledge that this list is not exhaustive and that other risks, both known and unknown, exist. I VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS and accept full responsibility for any injury, death, or loss that may occur.
⚠️ THIS IS REAL ⚠️
These aren't hypothetical risks. These things have happened. Multiple times. People have been bitten. People have lost fingers. People have been hospitalized. One person tried to pet a gator and spent three weeks in physical therapy. The alligators are not your friends. They are 200-pound reptiles with the strongest bite force of any living animal. Take this seriously.
Release of Liability
In consideration for being permitted to participate in LRAWL activities, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and promise not to sue LRAWL, its officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated entities (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me while participating in such activities.
This release applies to:
- Negligence of the Released Parties, whether active or passive
- Dangerous conditions on the premises
- Equipment failure or inadequacy
- Failure to provide adequate safety measures or supervision
- Failure to warn of dangerous conditions
- Any other acts or omissions of the Released Parties
What This Means:
Even if we screw up—even if our equipment fails, our safety measures are inadequate, or our staff makes mistakes— you can't sue us. You're accepting that this is a dangerous activity and that we're doing our best, but accidents happen. If you can't accept this, don't sign.
Indemnification
I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities, including attorney's fees, arising out of, connected with, or resulting from my participation in LRAWL activities, including any claims made by my family, estate, heirs, or legal representatives.
Translation:
If someone sues LRAWL because of something you did, you'll pay our legal bills. If your family sues us after you get hurt, you're agreeing (in advance) that they shouldn't. This protects us from lawsuits related to your participation.
Medical Authorization
I authorize LRAWL staff to:
- Administer basic first aid as needed
- Call emergency medical services (911) if necessary
- Share my medical information with emergency responders
- Transport me to medical facilities for treatment
- Make emergency medical decisions if I am unable to do so
I understand that I am responsible for all medical costs and expenses incurred as a result of any injuries sustained during LRAWL activities. I acknowledge that LRAWL does not provide health insurance coverage for participants.
I certify that:
- I am in good physical and mental health
- I have adequate health insurance coverage
- I have no medical conditions that would be aggravated by strenuous activity
- I have disclosed all relevant medical conditions to LRAWL
Photo & Video Release
I grant LRAWL the irrevocable right and permission to photograph and/or record me during activities and to use my name, image, likeness, and voice in any media for promotional, marketing, educational, or other purposes without compensation or approval.
I understand that:
- Photos and videos may be shared publicly on social media, websites, and promotional materials
- I may be identifiable in these materials
- LRAWL retains all rights to these materials
- I have no right to inspect or approve the finished product
- These materials may show me in unflattering or embarrassing situations (it's alligator wrestling)
Heads Up:
If you wrestle a gator and it goes viral (it probably will), you can't demand we take it down. Your moment of questionable judgment may live on the internet forever. Consider this before signing.

🚨 FINAL WARNING - LAST CHANCE TO WALK AWAY 🚨
Before you sign, take a moment to reflect: Are you really sure about this? Alligators are apex predators.
They have been evolving for 37 million years to be perfect killing machines. You have been thinking about
wrestling them for what, maybe a few weeks? Possibly while intoxicated?
This is not a joke. This is not a game. People get hurt doing this. If you sign this waiver and proceed,
you cannot sue us when things go wrong. And things often go wrong.
We are legally required to let you do this if you're an adult and you sign the waiver. But we're morally
obligated to tell you this is a terrible idea. Please reconsider.
Electronic Signature
By typing your name below and clicking "I Agree and Sign," you are creating a legally binding electronic signature equivalent to a handwritten signature on paper. This waiver will be legally enforceable.

You also agree to all terms on behalf of your minor child.

Once you submit this waiver, you'll receive a confirmation email with a copy for your records.
This waiver remains valid for one calendar year from the date of signing. You must present a copy
(printed or digital) at check-in for all LRAWL events. Without a signed waiver on file, you will not be
permitted to participate in or attend any activities.
If you have questions about this waiver, contact us at legal@lrawl.org BEFORE signing.
Once signed, this document is legally binding and enforceable.
